2024-10-19 - Gameplay Features and Enhancements

During this period, I made a series of improvements to core gameplay features. One major addition was the implementation of camera recoil when the player fires a weapon. This required a combination of timeline curves and rotation modifications to create a smooth yet impactful camera shake. Additionally, I refined the weapon reloading mechanics to accurately update the magazine count based on the player’s actions.

I also focused on enhancing the AI’s behavior to react realistically to environmental events, such as the power station turning on. I designed Krigz to actively patrol the nearest POI and search for the player, ensuring that he maintains a consistent level of threat throughout the game. This dynamic behavior adds tension and encourages the player to think strategically, knowing that Krigz is constantly adapting to their actions.
